Okay so… I was browsing the interwebs and all of the power went out in my complex… a few seconds later the lights start trying to flicker back on. For a second the light seems to be wavering mostly on, I could hear the heater turn back on in someone else’s place, before turning completely off again. Shortly after I notice a flickering again but when I look to my light… it’s not on. It was then I realized that the flashing was coming from outside. The sky was lit up. Flashing all colors of the rainbow. Red then green then blue, etc. I went to get up to look out my window and considered getting up and running out of my room to figure out what it was that was causing the bright flashing lights in the sky. When I sat up the lights stopped. I paused. The lights came back! I jumped up and ran to the first window I could find (the kitchen) and looked up. It looked the same. Then I looked to the livingroom and could see it was shining through the curtains even brighter that way. I ran into the livingroom and looked out the window there too before running out the door because I was afraid that whatever was causing this might dissappear before I could see it. I saw nothing but the sky flashing colors. Once outside I could tell it was still raining but the soft layer of clouds that were a light grey only minutes before were entirely lit up like a rainbow strobe light. I couldn’t see whst caused it because it was above the clouds but, whatever it was, it was massive and bright and NOTHING like lightning. I ran back and called to wake my mom up. I told her to, “Wake up!” Then I ran back outside to check, yet again, if I was really seeing what I was seeing and it was still going. I ran back to my mom and described quickly what was happening and told her, yet again, to get up and come outside to see this. Upon getting outside a third time I was not dissappointed to see the flashing persisted. I watched for another few moments befor my mom started to sound like she was getting close to ocming outside. I looked back quickly and called once more to hurry! When I turned back to the sky it flashed a couple more times before it was like someone flipped the off switch and the sky went out. A split second later my mom walked outside. The sky was back to normal. A grey with pink around the edges and I have no idea what happened but I’ve never seen anything like it.
